Traveling from Madison to Milwaukee and Chicago

Flying out of Madison is incredibly convenient, until the one flight from Madison to your destination is delayed or canceled... Sometimes it just makes more sense to fly out of Milwaukee or Chicago. Check out some of our tips for traveling to and from MKE and ORD!

Madison to Milwaukee

Badger Bus - if you don't want to fuss with driving or parking, check out Badger Bus. The bus has free wifi, a bathroom, and multiple pick up and drop off locations. The majority of the bus goers are young adults and I've always had pleasant experiences with it. One thing to note- the bus is almost always FREEZING! I highly recommend an extra sweatshirt or blanket!

Mitchell Airport Super Saver Lot -  If your flight leaves out of Milwaukee, don't get trapped paying $14/day at a surface lot! The super saver lot is $7/day and there are regular (and free!) shuttles that take you to and from your terminal.

Madison to Chicago

Van Galder Bus- The Van Galden Bus is efficient and reasonably priced. I would argue that it isn't as nice as the Badger Bus but it gets you from point A to point B quickly and safely. The bus doesn't  have wifi (at least not since I've taken it last in 2016) and only has a couple drop off points in Madison but again, all things considered it's a great option.

I-Pass- If you're driving to and from Chicago, cut down on travel time and reduce the cost of tolls by using an IPass! I can't believe that I spent 3 years paying full toll prices. Seriously, it's worth it!

Happy Traveling!
